NORWICH CARE SUPPORT WORKER JAILED FOR SEX ASSAULTS ON WOMEN
Andrei-Ovidiu Miron, a 41-year-old care support worker, was sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting two women with mental health challenges while employed at a supported living facility in Norwich.
He engaged in sexual activity with one woman and sexually abused another, during which he showed her semi-naked photographs of his ex-girlfriend and discussed orgies in Norwich.
Although he initially denied the allegations, Miron admitted guilt before the trial commenced.
He received a prison term of two years and four months, was placed on the sex offenders’ register for a decade, prohibited from working with children and vulnerable adults, and ordered to comply with a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
The court was informed that, despite both women living independently, they had mental health and learning difficulties that required support.
The prosecutor highlighted Miron’s inappropriate conduct, including sharing explicit images and making lewd remarks.
The defense stated that Miron did not intentionally target vulnerable individuals but acknowledged his misconduct.
The sentence underscores the gravity of his abuse and betrayal of trust.
