ALLOA SEX PREDATOR ALEXANDER KEENAN CONVICTED OF RAPE OF 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN SHOCKING CASE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Alloa, Alexander Keenan, a 40-year-old man, was found guilty of raping a 12-year-old girl after he deliberately drugged her with a substance known as street valium. The incident, which took place in May 2018, involved Keenan lacing the young girl's lemonade with the illicit drug, leading to a heinous assault that has left many in the town appalled and seeking justice.

Following the attack, Keenan attempted to manipulate the situation by involving a teenage boy, trying to persuade him to help cover up the crime. Evidence presented during the trial revealed that Keenan orchestrated a form of 'role play' by pretending to be a lawyer, aiming to familiarize the young girl with potential questions she might face in court. This disturbing tactic was part of his attempt to control the narrative and possibly influence the outcome of the investigation.

The trial, held at the High Court in Glasgow, saw Keenan deny all allegations, claiming that he was the victim of a false accusation. He insisted that he had been subjected to a 'personal hell' due to the girl’s claims and maintained that he was innocent. Despite his protests, the jury found him guilty of raping the young girl at a residence in Alloa, Clackmannanshire. Keenan was immediately remanded into custody and will face sentencing next month.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that after the assault, Keenan left the scene to have a cup of tea and a cigarette, seemingly unbothered by the gravity of his actions. He attempted to justify his behavior by claiming that he had been asleep in the house and only woke up to find the girl molesting him, describing his reaction as being 'worse than shocked' and 'completely and utterly devastated.' Keenan further claimed that he only became aware of the accusations through someone else, suggesting a lack of awareness or denial of his actions.

The prosecution highlighted the presence of the drug Etizolam in the victim’s system, which Keenan claimed he had no knowledge of how it got there. Prosecutor Greg Farrell confronted Keenan with evidence that he had intentionally put the drug into the girl’s lemonade, to which Keenan responded with denial, asserting that he had no idea how it happened. The prosecutor pressed further, insinuating that Keenan was attempting to shift blame onto the girl herself, asking if she had sexually assaulted him, to which Keenan responded that he could only go on what he woke up to.

Additional evidence showed that Keenan had tried to involve a teenage boy in his deception, encouraging him to lie and even rehearsing lawyer-like questions and answers. When questioned about this, Keenan admitted that he had role-played the scenario, pretending to be a lawyer asking questions, and confirmed that the boy had invented parts of the story under his influence.

Following the verdict, Keenan, who hails from Alloa, was seen shaking his head in disbelief. Judge Alistair Watson addressed him directly, condemning his actions as 'vile and disgusting' and emphasizing that it was entirely inappropriate for him to remain free while awaiting sentencing. As a result, Keenan’s bail was revoked, and he remains in custody pending further reports and sentencing scheduled for next month, ensuring that justice is pursued for the young victim and the community of Alloa.
