ALLOA WOMAN CONVICTED FOR LOCKING TWO DOGS IN CUPBOARD WITH NO FOOD OR WATER
The court heard that Aimee McGlynn’s ‘bad relationships’ and ‘chaotic lifestyle’ led her to lock her two dogs in a cupboard without food and water because she said she could not cope with looking after them.
The boarded-up cupboard was covered in scratches and claw marks, indicating the dogs were in distress and trying in vain to get free.
Single mother McGlynn, who has a previous conviction for threatening behaviour, admitted causing the dogs unnecessary suffering at an address in Don Street, Grangemouth, on January 19, 2025.
She also admitted threatening behaviour at the same location on February 12, 2025.
“At 10.30am police received intelligence about there being an unwanted person at the address,” said the procurator fiscal depute.
“At the premises they found things in disarray and there was a cupboard there that was boarded up from outside.
“Two dogs were traced within the cupboard.
The animals had been in the cupboard for some time and there was no proof of water being available for them or any trace of food.”
