CHILD RAPIST NASRULLAH KHALID DIES IN PRISON
A CHILD rapist who preyed on two girls from Alloa has died in prison.Nasrullah Khalid (56) was jailed for 12 years in January 2003 for raping a 10-year-old and sexually molesting an eight-year-old.
The offences took place over a seven year period up to 1986.
Ahead of the court case, at the High Court in Edinburgh, Khalid, who worked in a shop in Alloa High Street, fled to Pakistan while on bail but later returned.
After admitting the offences Khalid was told by Lord Philip he had pled guilty to a catalogue of degrading sexual abuse of the most serious kind.
Lord Philip added, "It is clear you gave no thought to the permanent damage your actions were doing to the girls involved and you were intent on your own gratification.
"It is clear you have ruined their lives.
The effect of your actions will be with them all their days." Khalid's first victim was aged just 10 when he first raped her.
He gave her mother money so that she could go out to play bingo and then had sex with the girl, putting his hand over her mouth to stop her screaming.
The second victim was aged eight when the abuse began over a three year period.
In 1992 Khalid left Alloa after being made redundant from United Glass and moved to Huddersfield where he worked as a taxi driver.
Khalid was a prisoner in Dumfries when he died.
The Scottish Prison Service has confirmed the next of kin had been informed and a fatal accident inquiry will take place.
