ALAN LEE CAUGHT IN LEEDS BY ONLINE PAEDOPHILE HUNTERS AND JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES
In a disturbing case that highlights the dangers of online predators, Alan Lee, a 47-year-old man from Leeds, was recently apprehended and brought to justice after attempting to engage in illegal sexual activities with a girl he believed was only 12 years old.The incident unfolded in January 2019, when Lee was caught by a group of online paedophile hunters known as 'Predator Exposure.' Lee, who resides on Belinda Street in Hunslet, Leeds, had been communicating extensively with what he thought was a young girl.
Over the course of his interactions, he sent her approximately 200 messages via WhatsApp, during which he repeatedly referred to her as “beautiful” and a “princess.” His conversations delved into highly inappropriate topics, including discussions about nudity, masturbation, and explicit instructions on how to abuse herself using a hairbrush.
These exchanges were part of a calculated effort to incite the girl to engage in sexual activity.
Prosecutor David Bradshaw outlined that Lee had contacted an individual posing as a 12-year-old girl, engaging in numerous conversations from October 30 to November 11 of the previous year.
The person pretending to be the child made it explicitly clear from the beginning that she was only 12 years old and disclosed that she had been in care since she was nine.
Despite this, Lee continued to pursue the interaction, even suggesting that if she did not want sex, there was no point in meeting.
Before any physical meeting could occur, law enforcement intervened.
Lee was arrested and subsequently pleaded guilty to five charges of attempting to incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
His actions prompted immediate legal consequences, and the court responded with a stern sentence.
Judge Burn imposed a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order on Lee, which restricts his activities and contact related to minors.
Additionally, Lee was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for ten years, marking a significant step in safeguarding potential victims and preventing further offenses.
This case underscores the ongoing threat posed by online predators and the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable children from exploitation and abuse, especially in the digital age where such interactions can occur under the guise of innocent communication.
