A Leeds resident and former taxi driver has been sentenced to prison following the discovery of a repulsive collection of child abuse imagery and hidden camera recordings that captured a woman in private moments.
Rehan Farooq, 37, was arrested after police executed a raid on his home in April.
Authorities found hundreds of illegal images and chat logs that detailed disturbing fantasies about kidnapping, raping, and murdering children and women, shared with other offenders.
After initially denying involvement and attributing his actions to drug use, a second police raid in October uncovered additional disturbing material.
Among the evidence was secret footage of a woman using the toilet and shower, which Farooq had uploaded online.
The investigation recovered over 500 illegal images and videos, including the most severe child abuse content classified as “Category A” and shocking material involving animals.
Farooq, who was already on a suspended sentence for dangerous driving, pleaded guilty to voyeurism, producing indecent images of children, and possessing extreme pornography.
He received a prison sentence of 40 months.
He will also be registered as a sex offender for life and face a permanent ban from the internet to restrict any possibility of further illegal online acts.
