ADEMOLA OMODENI FROM WEDNESBURY AND WEST BROMWICH JAILED FOR PERVERTED ACTS IN WEST BROMWICH
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities of Wednesbury and West Bromwich, Ademola Richard Omodeni, aged 24, has been sentenced to prison following his involvement in two separate incidents of indecent behavior. The first incident occurred on February 21 at the Queens Square Shopping Centre in West Bromwich, where Omodeni was caught on CCTV repeatedly returning to the public toilets, seemingly waiting for an opportunity to carry out his inappropriate actions.According to court reports, the teenage girl involved was initially unaware of Omodeni’s intentions. However, her suspicion grew when she noticed him peering over the toilet door a second time. During this encounter, Omodeni was seen waving a fistful of money at her, an act that clearly indicated his inappropriate intent. The girl, alarmed by his behavior, quickly exited the restroom along with her mother. They promptly alerted a cleaner present at the scene, who responded swiftly by locking Omodeni inside the toilet until police officers arrived to take him into custody.
Further court proceedings revealed that Omodeni, who resides on Hales Road in Wednesbury, had a prior incident on February 15 at the West Bromwich branch of McColls Newsagents. During this incident, he was observed by two female employees selecting a pornographic magazine from the top shelf and then engaging in a sexual act in view of the store. Despite denying both allegations, Omodeni was found guilty after a trial, as he failed to appear in court at the scheduled time. The court also noted that he had been late for his trial, which contributed to the decision.
In addition to the convictions, the court heard that Omodeni is a self-employed sales representative. His defense lawyer, Mr. Mandeep Bassi, argued that Omodeni was in need of help, highlighting his personal circumstances. Nevertheless, magistrates sentenced him to a total of 52 weeks in prison—26 weeks for each of the two charges—plus an additional week for failing to surrender to court bail on time. The sentences reflect the seriousness with which the court viewed his actions and serve as a reminder of the importance of safeguarding public decency and protecting vulnerable individuals from such disturbing conduct.
