MAN FOUND GUILTY OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING CHILD ON TRAIN
2026-06-25 08:59: A man who carried out an "abhorrent" sexual assault on a teenage girl has been sentenced to over ten years in prison.Abdulmanon Aliev, aged 50, received a 12-year prison sentence and an additional two years on licence following a court trial.
Authorities stated that he targeted a vulnerable young girl and commended her courage.
As a result of his conviction, Aliev, a citizen of Tajikistan, will be registered as a sex offender for life.
During proceedings at Inner London Crown Court, it was revealed that a 13-year-old girl was traveling by train from Southend to London on June 16 last year.
During her journey, Aliev sat across from her, attempting to communicate using a translation app on his mobile phone.
She moved to a different seat to get away from him, but he followed and sat beside her in an aisle seat, blocking her way by the window.
He then forcibly assaulted her, engaging in a lengthy sexual attack until the train reached London Fenchurch Street station.
The girl managed to escape from him and boarded another train leaving London, leaving Aliev behind at the station.
Police later investigated the incident, tracing hours of CCTV footage to identify him.
On June 27, plainclothes officers recognized Aliev in Peckham, south London, leading to his arrest.
His residence was searched, and the clothing he was wearing during the attack was recovered.
Aliev, who resides on Rye Lane in south London, was found guilty in April of attempted rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and three counts of sexual assault.
On June 23, a judge sentenced him to 12 years in prison with an additional two years on extended licence.
Detective Constable Elizabeth Cahill remarked: "Aliev targeted a vulnerable child and subjected her to one of the most abhorrent sexual assaults I’ve ever investigated.
While much of the attention will rightly focus on him as a despicable sex offender, I want to praise the brave young girl who reported him to police." "Her testimony and her willingness to support our investigation made his conviction and 12-year sentence possible.
We take all reports of sexual offences very seriously, and we will do everything in our power to ensure that offenders like Aliev are kept behind bars where they belong." --------------------------- 2026-04-13 11:19: A man from Tajikistan who committed a heinous sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl aboard a train has been convicted of six charges.
The case was investigated by detectives from the British Transport Police's Major, Serious and Organised Crime team.
Abdulmanon Aliev, aged 50, originally from Tajikistan but currently residing on Rye Lane in South London, appeared before Inner London Crown Court for a trial lasting a week.
On 9 April, the jury found him guilty of two counts of Assault by Penetration, three counts of Sexual Assault, and Attempted Rape.
He is scheduled for sentencing on 17 June at the same court.
The court heard that on the afternoon of 16 June 2025, the young girl was traveling on a train from Southend to London.
During her journey, Aliev approached her, sitting opposite and attempting to communicate using a translator app on his phone.
The girl moved to sit elsewhere, but Aliev followed her, sitting next to her in an aisle seat and blocking her from leaving.
He then subjected her to a sustained sexual assault until the train reached London Fenchurch Street station, where she managed to escape and exit the train.
She then boarded another train headed out of London, leaving Aliev behind at the station.
The girl reported her ordeal to members of the public in a distressed state, and police were informed shortly afterward.
BTP detectives started an urgent investigation, examining hours of CCTV footage to follow Aliev’s movements before and after the incident.
He was finally located and arrested on 27 June in Peckham, South London, by plainclothes officers.
Authorities searched his residence, recovered the clothing he wore during the attack, and collected evidence.
This evidence was forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service, leading to formal charges the following day.
Throughout the process, specialized officers supported the victim and her family.
