AARON HUTTER, A CONVICTED PAEDOPHILE FROM SOUTHAMPTON, CAUGHT FAILING TO REGISTER DEVICES
A convicted paedophile from Southampton was caught failing to register his devices for police monitoring, a court has heard.The investigation began in 2015 when specialists using a fake profile identified Hutter contacting young children via internet chat rooms.
Further inquiries revealed that he had amassed a collection of over 1,000 indecent images of children as young as five, along with some footage involving animals.
Despite being ordered to adhere to a sexual harm prevention order, 24-year-old Hutter admitted twice to not registering his console and deleting his internet history on his iPhone.
Southampton Magistrates' Court was informed that in May, Hutter failed to provide his mobile phone when requested by police and restored it to factory settings.
He also did not register the name he used on his Xbox account.
Previously, Hutter received an eight-month suspended prison sentence for numerous charges related to possessing indecent images.
During that trial, officials from the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) used a fake profile of a ten-year-old to catch him.
It was revealed that he had been communicating with a ten-year-old girl on social media and via email.
Police subsequently raided his home and seized computer equipment containing 1,103 images, including 158 of the worst category.
Judge Peter Henry described the images as “disturbing” and said, “No-one said you were directly involved in the abuse of these children but people are involved and they are in it to make money and in it to share these revolting images with people like you.
The real victims are these young children.” Hutter, of Spring Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty to the charges.
He was sentenced to a community order requiring him to complete 100 hours of unpaid work within the next year and was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
