AYR MAN IN HIS 60S CONFESSES TO SOCIAL MEDIA STALKING AND HARASSMENT
A STALKER in his sixties has confessed to carrying out a campaign of harassment against his ex-partner.William Taylor, aged 61, created a fake social media profile of the woman and uploaded content online purporting to have been posted by her.
The bespectacled man also repeatedly loitered outside the woman’s workplace and sent numerous unwanted items by post, including parcels and letters, to her home.
Taylor pleaded guilty at Ayr Sheriff Court to engaging in a course of behaviour which was abusive towards a partner or ex-partner.
The offences were committed at an address in Ayr, two addresses in Kilmarnock, and elsewhere, between July 1 and September 13 last year.
The prosecution indicated that a non-harassment order would be sought to prevent Taylor from contacting or making any contact with the victim.
Sentence was deferred for a criminal justice social work report.
Taylor, who was represented by defence solicitor Robert Logan, had his bail continued and will return to court for sentencing at a later date.
