NOTTINGHAM SEX OFFENDER WARNS OF PRISON HORRORS AFTER CHILD ABUSE VIDEO DOWNLOAD
A city sex offender named William Barclay has been issued a stark warning by a judge about the dangers he would face inside Nottingham Prison if he downloads another child abuse video.Judge Stuart Rafferty KC told Barclay, a 22-year-old from Carlton, that Nottingham Prison 'is overrun with young men running around, screaming, stabbing each other,' and warned him: 'imagine what they would do to you if they found out what you were there for.' Barclay was caught with videos depicting boys and girls as young as eight being raped and abused by adults for his own gratification.
Despite this, he told arresting officers he 'just scrolled through them' and claimed he did not have a sexual interest in children.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children, which included 31 of the most serious category A videos, three of category B, and 30 images of category C.
The judge handed him an 18-month community order, which includes attending 30 rehabilitation sessions to undergo a sex offender treatment programme addressing the root cause of his actions.
Barclays will also be on the sex offender register for five years and is subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
Prosecutor Lucy Jones explained that police executed a warrant at Barclay's residence in Conway Road following tips linking an internet address there to child abuse images and videos.
The police recovered electronic devices and examined them, discovering multiple indecent images of children aged eight to 14 across various categories.
Barclay admitted to possessing the images and said he 'would just scroll through them.'
