WAYNE NICOLL FROM DIDCOT CAUGHT WITH VILE CHILD SEX ABUSE VIDEOS AND IMAGES
In August 2021, a disturbing case emerged involving Wayne Nicoll, a resident of Didcot, who was found in possession of highly disturbing and illegal material related to child sexual abuse.The authorities uncovered a collection of indecent images and videos that are classified as some of the most serious under the law.
Nicoll, aged 46, who previously served a seven-year prison sentence in the 1990s for the rape of a nine-year-old girl, appeared before Oxford magistrates to face charges related to his possession of these illicit materials.
During the court proceedings, he admitted to having a total of 13 videos categorized as Category A, which is reserved for the most severe and explicit content involving children.
Additionally, he acknowledged possessing 42 images and videos classified as Category B, along with two indecent videos falling under Category C.
Prosecutor Tina Flannery provided details about the police investigation, revealing that officers had discovered links on Nicoll’s computer to websites that specialized in hosting child sex abuse material.
These sites reportedly contained content involving babies and very young children, highlighting the severity and depravity of the material involved.
It was also disclosed that Nicoll had a prior conviction from the mid-1990s, which resulted in a seven-year custodial sentence for the rape of a nine-year-old girl.
This history underscores a troubling pattern of criminal behavior involving minors.
At the hearing, Nicoll, who was dressed in a grey tracksuit, chose to speak only to confirm his personal details and to enter his guilty pleas.
He did not make any further statements during the proceedings.
The court remanded him into custody, with a scheduled appearance at Oxford Crown Court on October 5 for sentencing.
A pre-sentence report was ordered to assist the court in determining the appropriate punishment for his crimes.
