VINCENT HILL FROM FIFE AND GLASGOW SENTENCED FOR CHILD GROOMING AND SEXUAL ASSAULT IN GLASGOW AND PAREL
A man identified as Vincent Hill, who engaged in a prolonged campaign of grooming and sexually assaulting a young schoolboy, has been handed a prison sentence of seven years. The heinous abuse spanned over four years, beginning when the victim was only 12 years old, and took place across multiple locations including Glasgow, Paisley, Inchinnan, and Erskine. Hill, a market trader originally from Paisley, exploited the trust of the young boy at various addresses within these areas from 1998 to 2002.It was only in 2013 that the victim, after confiding in his wife, disclosed the abuse he had endured. This revelation prompted a police investigation that eventually led to Hill’s arrest and charges. Hill, who admitted to the allegations, was described by the presiding judge as having systematically groomed and abused his young victim, demonstrating a calculated pattern of exploitation.
The court heard disturbing details about Hill’s methods of silencing the victim. He used football tickets as a means of bribery, taking the boy to Rangers matches in an effort to prevent him from revealing the abuse. This manipulation was part of Hill’s broader strategy to maintain control and silence over his young victim.
At the time of sentencing, Hill, aged 60, faced a lengthy prison term. He is also scheduled to appear in court next month for further sentencing related to additional offences he has pleaded guilty to. The case highlights the disturbing extent of grooming and abuse that can occur over years, often hidden from public view, and underscores the importance of vigilance and timely intervention in protecting vulnerable children.
