VAHID GHAEDI FROM BRADFORD JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON VULNERABLE CHILD IN CITY PARK
In September 2022, a disturbing incident unfolded in Bradford’s City Park involving a man who preyed on a vulnerable young girl. The perpetrator, Vahid Ghaedi, was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl he encountered while she was walking through the park late at night.
The incident led to Ghaedi being sentenced to ten months in prison.
According to court proceedings, Ghaedi, aged 35 and residing at Sawrey Place in Little Horton, Bradford, approached the girl, who was identified as a looked-after child.
After engaging her in conversation, he quickly realized her vulnerable state and homeless condition.
Seizing the opportunity, Ghaedi offered her food, and as they moved towards a nearby takeaway, their interaction took a darker turn.
During this encounter, Ghaedi was confronted by a man who appeared to know the girl and who criticized Ghaedi’s intentions, emphasizing that she was only 14 years old.
The man’s objections prompted Ghaedi to call a taxi, and he persuaded the girl to accompany him to his flat.
Once there, Ghaedi took steps to make himself appear more presentable, going to the bathroom to shave and improve his appearance.
Once at his residence, Ghaedi’s behavior became increasingly inappropriate.
He inquired if the girl had a boyfriend and expressed interest in someone like her.
He then proceeded to touch her thigh, kissed her, and licked her face.
Despite her clear discomfort, Ghaedi continued to try to persuade her to meet him again, offering money in exchange for further contact.
Ghaedi’s actions were brought to light during the trial, where he was assisted by a Farsi interpreter.
The jury found him guilty of two counts of sexual assault, and the court’s judge, Ahmed Nadim, condemned his exploitation of a vulnerable child.
The judge highlighted that Ghaedi had attempted to manipulate the girl for financial gain and had taken advantage of her homeless and fragile state.
In addition to his prison sentence, Ghaedi was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which will remain in effect for ten years.
He is also required to register as a sex offender for the same period, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
The case underscores the dangers faced by vulnerable children in public spaces and the importance of justice in protecting at-risk youth from predatory individuals.
