March 2005 Paedophile faces jail over hardcore child porn A NURSING home care assistant is facing jail after downloading “revolting” hardcore child porn – including one image of a young girl being raped by a grown man – onto his computer. Bespectacled paedophile Uwe Dieter Weniger, 44, stored more than 1,000 still and moving images of girls aged mainly between 11 and 14 on his PC at his home on Hurdsfield Road in Macclesfield, a court heard. The majority were classed as low-level child pornography – showing lone girls, naked or semi-naked, in provocative poses. Some were described as pre-pubescent. However, a minority of the images showed girls in sex acts with adult men, Macclesfield magistrates were told. And one was classed by police as a level-five image – the most serious which, the bench was told, could include sadism and bestiality. Weniger admitted 18 offences relating to the possession of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs and was warned he faced jail pending a probation report. Matthew Kerruish-Jones, prosecuting, said Weniger, a care assistant in elderly people’s homes, stored paedophilic images from the internet on his home computer. Police raided his home last July. Forensic evidence showed Weniger was the only user, and he had not exchanged or sold pornography to anyone else. Mr Kerruish-Jones said the defendant admitted to police that he was interested in looking at girls aged 14-upwards. He said: “That’s what he preferred. He had downloaded images of younger girls but had deleted them.” Various images and sequences were described in court. The majority showed lone girls in provocative sexual poses indoors and outdoors. However, one showed an 11 or 12-year-old performing sex acts with a man, another showed another girl with a man, and a third showed a girl aged 12 or 13 being raped by a man, Mr Kerruish-Jones said. Sergey Prokofiev, defending, said: “The defendant admitted these offences the day he was arrested. He has not hidden anything. “He said, yes, he’s into porn. Yes, he has it on his computer. These are revolting images but they are mostly of a level-one class, meaning there’s a low degree of exploitation and abuse. “He downloaded these but did not make them, exchange or sell them. The images were all for personal use and there was no commercial gain.” Mr Prokofiev said jailing his client would ruin his life. “He had a plan to attend nursing school, to further his qualifications. But now, his ability to do so will be greatly compromised.” Magistrates’ chairman Brenda Pragnell warned that they were keeping all sentencing options open. She told the defendant: “There were at least five images above level-one, and you will have to sign the sex offenders’ register.” Weniger’s period on the register could depend on the length and type of his sentence.
