Urfan Arshad was brought before Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday, May 16, where he received a sentence of eight years and six months behind bars.

When she refused to hand over her device, she made a quick call to a friend, instructing her to check her messages.
These messages, sent earlier, contained her expressions of fear and distress over Arshad’s inappropriate touching.
Despite her efforts to seek help, Arshad persisted in touching her leg beneath the table, making her increasingly uncomfortable.
It was only when she managed to shift away that she was able to break free from his unwanted contact.
The court heard how the victim’s bravery in reaching out to her friend and attempting to distance herself from Arshad played a crucial role in the case.
The incident has raised concerns about passenger safety on public transport and the importance of vigilance in such situations.
