TYLER SMITH FROM BOLTON SENTENCED FOR RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT IN FARNWORTH

On the early morning of July 16, 2023, a disturbing incident unfolded in Farnworth, Bolton, involving three women who had been out enjoying their night. The women met Tyler Smith at a local pub, and after several hours of socializing, they collectively decided to return to a private residence.

Upon arriving at the house, Smith's behavior took a troubling turn. He began to make unwelcome advances toward one of the women. Despite her clear protests and telling him to refrain from touching her, Smith showed no regard for her discomfort or boundaries. His actions persisted, ignoring her pleas for him to stop.

Eventually, the woman chose to leave the house, opting to take a taxi home. Meanwhile, another woman decided to go to sleep in one of the bedrooms, while the third woman also decided she wanted to leave. As she was in the process of ordering a taxi, Smith unexpectedly cornered her in the kitchen. He attempted to kiss her, and when she tried to pull away, he continued to grab her, insisting that he knew she wanted him.

Despite her repeated pleas for him to stop, Smith forcibly assaulted her, raping her against her will. The woman, understandably frightened and distressed, woke her friend up and together they confronted Smith, asking him to leave the house.

In response to the confrontation, Smith became extremely angry, and his aggressive outburst was captured on mobile phone footage, which documented the entire incident.

Tyler Smith, born on July 27, 2000, and of no fixed abode, later pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault and rape. He appeared before Minshull Street Crown Court on Monday, December 2, where he was sentenced to five years and five months in prison. Additionally, Smith will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the impact on his victims.
