TREVER GLASPER'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN MIDDLESBROUGH: PUBLIC SEXUAL OFFENSES AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY REVEALED
In September 2016, a disturbing case involving Trevor Glasper, a 70-year-old resident of Middlesbrough, came to light, revealing a series of serious sexual offenses and violations of public decency laws. The incident unfolded after a vigilant member of the public noticed Glasper acting suspiciously in public spaces and taking photographs of individuals without their consent.
This individual managed to capture a photo of Glasper on her phone in January of the previous year, which ultimately led to police intervention and a detailed investigation.
Authorities responded promptly to the report and visited Glasper’s residence in Raincliffe Court, Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough.
During the search, officers uncovered a troubling collection of evidence that painted a disturbing picture of Glasper’s activities.
They found a total of 32 mobile phones stored in his home and vehicle, one of which contained two indecent images of children, a clear violation of child protection laws.
Additionally, they discovered an animated film with a provocative title that was a crude pun on “The Wizard of Oz,” featuring explicit scenes involving cartoon-like characters resembling Dorothy and the scarecrow, which was deemed illegal.
Further examination revealed videos recorded by Glasper himself, depicting him engaging in self-pleasure at his home, on a bus behind a female passenger, and even while driving.
In these recordings, he used a lewd nickname, indicating a pattern of compulsive behavior.
The police also found images of a girl dressed in a school uniform on a bus, along with videos of women taken without their knowledge as they walked through town, with a particular focus on their lower bodies.
These acts of voyeurism and indecency prompted the authorities to seek strict legal measures against Glasper.
As a result, a court order was issued that explicitly bans Glasper from taking photographs or videos of girls under the age of 18 in public places, including on public transport and in any other public setting.
The order also prohibits him from engaging in any form of solo sexual activity in public, whether on roads or on buses.
After a comprehensive hearing, the court imposed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, which also restricts his use of the internet, electronic devices, and recording equipment to prevent further offenses.
The legal consequences for Glasper are severe.
If he commits any further offenses, he faces a potential prison sentence of up to five years.
Glasper, who resides in Middlesbrough, admitted to charges of making indecent images of children, a crime carrying a maximum penalty of ten years, as well as possessing a prohibited image of a child.
His criminal history includes convictions for indecent exposure dating back to the 1960s and 1970s, but he had remained out of trouble for over four decades prior to these recent offenses.
During the court proceedings, his defense solicitor, Yvonne Taylor, expressed remorse on his behalf, stating, “He is extremely sorry.
He is remorseful.
Reality has dawned rather later than it should have done.
He said it’s nearly cost him his marriage.
He’s just so ashamed of his behaviour and has said ‘I need help’.
At long last he has managed to realise that.” It was also noted that Glasper’s actions had a profound impact on his wife, who was described as “stunned, shocked, angry,” and was reportedly in poor health.
The judge, Peter Armstrong, emphasized the danger posed by Glasper’s behavior, particularly highlighting the risks associated with his activities behind the wheel and on buses, which could have endangered children and other members of the public.
The judge remarked, “You clearly have a distorted view of behaviour as far as children are concerned.
What saves you from being locked up immediately is the fact that there were no contact offences.” In sentencing, Glasper was given a three-year community order that includes supervision and participation in a sex offender treatment program.
The judge described this approach as “more constructive” than immediate imprisonment, aiming to provide long-term protection for the public.
Additionally, Glasper was placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and compliance with the court’s restrictions.
