TONY SIMMONDS CONWY SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR BREACHING NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Tony Simmonds, a convicted sex offender residing in Conwy, found himself back in legal trouble after failing to adhere to strict notification rules imposed by the court.The 50-year-old was required to inform police if he intended to stay at any new address for longer than seven days.
However, he stayed at his former partner's residence in Conwy for a period of ten days without notifying authorities, which constituted a clear breach of his legal obligations.
According to court records, Simmonds had previously been convicted of offences related to indecent images at Chester Crown Court in September of the previous year.
He received a 14-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years, along with the condition that he must notify police of any change in his residence exceeding a week.
Despite this, Simmonds remained at his former partner’s house in Conwy for ten days, during which time she became increasingly uncomfortable with his presence and eventually informed the police.
She reportedly told officers that Simmonds was reluctant to leave her home, prompting her to take action.
When questioned by law enforcement, Simmonds explained that he was staying with his former partner to give his brother a break.
Normally, he would stay with his brother in Marine Road, Pensarn, near Abergele.
