TWO CHARGED WITH BLACKMAIL OVER EXPLICIT PHOTOS
Following a series of threatening online incidents involving a man and the threat of exposing explicit images, two suspects have been charged.Nottinghamshire Police reported that in 2023, the victim began communicating with what he believed was a female social media account.
He was persuaded to send intimate pictures as part of these interactions.
The perpetrators behind the fake account then extorted him by demanding hundreds of pounds, which he paid before reporting the matter to authorities.
On Friday, Khalid Bamgbaiye, 26, and Tiwalade Abimbola, 25, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court charged with blackmail.
They have been released on bail until their court date at Nottingham Crown Court scheduled for 6 March.
Bamgbaiye of Onslow Road, Southampton, and Abimbola of Woden Road, Wolverhampton, also face charges related to the concealment and transfer of criminal property.
Both suspects are set to return to court for further proceedings.
