MAN WHO ATTEMPTED TO MEET YOUNG GIRLS FOR SEXUAL ACTIVITY JAILED
A man from Wolverhampton who tried to arrange encounters with 12-year-old girls for sexual purposes has been sentenced to prison.
Aaron Kainth, aged 24 and residing on Rooker Crescent, believed he was communicating with young girls in April of last year when he sent messages attempting to meet them for sex.
His plans were thwarted through the efforts of the West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU), which collaborated with West Midlands Police officers.
Kainth was detained, charged with multiple offences, and appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday (9 March).
There, he confessed to one count of facilitating a child sex offence, trying to cause a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, attempting to get a girl under 13 to view sexual images, and two counts related to sexual communication with a child.
He received a prison sentence of seven years and two months and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
