NOTTINGHAMSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR ATTEMPTED RAPE
An obsessed man will be locked up for four years after trying to rape a woman who was saved by a prison officer. The rescuer was alerted by the screaming victim as he passed by her house and managed to overcome 33-year-old Thomas Tinsley, Nottingham Crown Court heard.
Tinsley, described as "a gentle giant", had managed to rip off his victim's clothes and tried to put his belt around her neck.
His trousers and boxer shorts were partly down.
Alan Murphy, prosecuting, told the court: "She described herself as never feeling so scared in her life.
She thought he was going to kill her.
She said 'this has completely changed me as a person'." The woman suffers from flashbacks and feels "numb." After the attack, her muscles ached with the effort in trying to fight him off and Mr Murphy said: "She is hyper active to any noise and is nervous about other men." A probation report said that Tinsley might become a danger if he "becomes obsessed" with another woman.
