BLACKBURN MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL ASSAULT AND DRAGGING WOMAN FROM HER HOME
A man named Terrence Kenny, described as a 'cowardly and dangerous' individual, has been sentenced to prison after a violent incident involving a woman. The victim, in her 30s, was at her residence on Moorgate Street with a friend when she heard a disturbance outside.
She looked into her back garden and saw a figure, later identified as Kenny, near her rear window.
Shortly afterward, a tree stump was thrown through her kitchen window.
When she tried to leave through the front door, Kenny broke the window with a bicycle he had picked up and then kicked the door open, pulling her outside.
He then assaulted her with multiple punches to the face, causing serious facial injuries that required hospital care.
Kenny, who lives on Westwell Street in Darwen, appeared before Preston Crown Court and was sentenced to five years in prison.
The court also imposed a two-year extended license period, recognizing him as a dangerous offender.
In her victim statement, the woman described feelings of trauma, anxiety, and fear following the attack, leading her to relocate and start a new life.
PC Rob Lee from East CID commented on Kenny’s tendency toward violence, calling him a cowardly and dangerous individual, and expressed approval of the sentence as well as the judge’s classification of Kenny as a dangerous offender, noting ongoing monitoring after his release.
