TAYLOR HARRIS FROM CROYDON INVOLVED IN MULTIPLE CRIMES INCLUDING KIDNAPPING AND SEXUAL ASSAULT
Taylor Harris, a resident of Croydon, has a troubling criminal history that spans several serious offenses over the years. In 2011, Harris was sentenced to three years in prison for his involvement in a heinous kidnapping and torture case involving a 22-year-old man with disabilities. According to a Metropolitan Police statement issued at the time, the victim was subjected to brutal physical abuse, including being punched and kicked. The assailants also inflicted burns on him using incense sticks, a method of torture that underscores the severity of the crime. The statement further detailed that the perpetrators threatened to mutilate the victim, specifically mentioning threats to burn his genitalia and eyes, as well as to chop off his finger. These threats highlight the extreme violence and intimidation used during the ordeal. Harris, who was identified as part of the group responsible, ultimately pleaded guilty to charges of false imprisonment and blackmail, acknowledging his role in the disturbing incident.
Prior to this, in June 2010, Harris was involved in a separate criminal act that resulted in a six-week prison sentence. At that time, the Croydon native was convicted of groping a 13-year-old girl’s bottom. Harris, then 19 years old and residing on St James Road in Croydon, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years following his conviction for sexually assaulting a female under the age of 14.
The incident occurred in January when Harris followed a schoolgirl on his bicycle along Raymond Road in Beckenham. He then proceeded to assault her, an act that was reported to the police by the victim after she managed to escape and return home. The police apprehended Harris the following day, and he was subsequently tried and found guilty in May. His sentencing took place on June 7, during which the court emphasized the seriousness of his actions and the need for ongoing supervision through the sex offenders’ register.
Harris’s criminal record reflects a pattern of disturbing behavior, with convictions for both violent and sexual offenses, raising ongoing concerns about public safety in Croydon and surrounding areas.
