On Thursday, 4 December, Chester Crown Court sentenced Assef Naseri, who has no fixed address, to three years in prison.
The 30-year-old had earlier admitted to charges of abducting a child and participating in non-penetrative sexual acts with a girl aged 13 to 15.
Investigations uncovered that Naseri, then living in Croydon, had been communicating online with the girl and had planned to meet her in Chester, knowing her age.
In March 2025, police CCTV captured the 15-year-old victim in Chester city centre when Naseri met her.
They then proceeded to Chester Bus Station, where they caught a coach to London.
The footage also showed Naseri kissing the girl on the coach.
Police investigations led to the girl being found in Croydon four days later, in the company of Naseri.
He was arrested on suspicion of child abduction and was found dressed identically to what was shown in the Chester CCTV images.
On top of his custodial sentence, Naseri is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years and must sign the Sex Offender Register for 10 years.
