TAYLER THOMPSON INVOLVED IN ANIMAL CRUELTY INCIDENT IN BIRMINGHAM
A 27-year-old man named Taylor Thompson was involved in a distressing case of animal cruelty.He was filmed violently kicking a small dog in the head in the Kitts Green area of Birmingham.
The incident occurred while Thompson was sitting in his car on his driveway and honked his horn at a dog walker passing by, shouting at her to 'Move your f*****g dog.' Despite the woman and her dog not obstructing him, Thompson exited his vehicle and approached them.
He then attacked the small black dog with a ferocious kick, causing it to be sent flying through the air.
The footage of the attack sparked widespread outrage on social media, leading police to investigate.
The dog’s owner was seen caring for her injured pet, which continued to cry out as Thompson returned to his car and drove off.
Later, Thompson was identified and taken into custody, during which he racially abused officers.
He admitted guilt at Birmingham Magistrates Court on September 9 to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.
In addition to animal cruelty, charges against him included possession of class B drugs, using threatening language and conduct, and racial harassment.
The court has scheduled his sentencing for October 7.
Detective Sergeant Peta Haynes from Birmingham Police commented that the incident stirred public anger and underlined the unprovoked nature of Thompson’s attack, where he verbally abused and physically harmed the dog without any apparent reason, while also subjecting officers to racial insults during his arrest.
The case serves as a reminder that such behavior is unacceptable and will be prosecuted accordingly.
