December 2015 Telford factory worker, 27, had child sex images on phone A factory worker from Telford had a number of indecent images of children on his mobile phone, a court heard. Sunny Lal, 27, of York Flats, High Street, Wellington, had also stored a film of children as young as five years old involved in sexual activity. At Stafford Crown Court yesterday Lal was given a three-year community order during which he must attend a sex offenders’ rehabilitation programme. Judge Michael Chambers said it was clear that Lal needed help because of his initial attitude towards viewing the material, although he had now accepted he had a problem. “You must realise it is serious offence to view these images. Wicked people are abusing children by filming them engaging in indecent acts,” he said. Judge Chambers said Lal had avoided prison because he now accepted there was a sexual motive and because of his previous good character. In addition, Lal was made subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which prevents him using any device to view images and deleting any internet history. Lal will be also be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years and was ordered to pay £500 towards court costs. He had pleaded guilty to charges of making indecent photographs and distributing one of the images in October last year. The court heard that Lal’s mobile phone was analysed by police when he was arrested and interviewed over other matters about which no further action was taken. Mr Robert Price, prosecuting, said that several of the images were at the worst level and a video clip had been saved on his phone.
