BRADFORD CHILD SEX GROOMER STEVEN PIPE SENTENCED TO NINE YEARS IN PRISON
In a significant case that has drawn considerable attention within the Bradford community, Steven Pipe, a 31-year-old man from High House Road, Bolton, Bradford, has been sentenced to nine years behind bars for his involvement in the sexual exploitation of a minor. The conviction was handed down by Judge David Hatton QC at Bradford Crown Court following a jury's verdict that found Pipe guilty of three separate charges related to sexual activity with a girl under the age of 16.
According to court records and subsequent statements from law enforcement officials, Pipe engaged in grooming behavior that targeted a 15-year-old girl, manipulating her through coercion and exploiting her vulnerability due to her young age.
The court heard how Pipe systematically took advantage of the victim, establishing a pattern of sexual activity that was both predatory and abusive.
After the sentencing, Detective Constable Jodie Hayes, who is part of the Bradford District Safeguarding Unit, issued a statement emphasizing the gravity of the offense.
She remarked, “Pipe took advantage of his victim’s young age and vulnerability and coerced her into having regular sexual activity with him.” Hayes expressed gratitude towards the victim for her bravery in coming forward, acknowledging the courage it takes to report such abuse.
She further added, “We would like to thank the victim for her courage in coming forward and hope that the sentence passed down today will help to give her some comfort.
We also hope it will encourage other victims to come forward and speak to our trained officers, who will investigate all reports of sexual abuse thoroughly and sensitively, no matter how historic.” The case underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement in Bradford to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable minors from predators.
The community and authorities alike are reminded of the importance of vigilance and support for victims of sexual abuse, especially in cases where offenders exploit their positions of trust and vulnerability.
