BRISTOL MAN STEPHEN PENNYCOTT SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS FOR RAPE AND SEX OFFENCES IN LAWRENCE WESTON
In a case that has shocked the community of Lawrence Weston, Bristol, a 44-year-old man named Stephen Pennycott has been handed down a substantial prison sentence of 11 years after being convicted of serious sexual offences involving a teenage girl.According to court records and official statements, Pennycott, who resides on Mancroft Avenue in Lawrence Weston, pleaded guilty to one count of rape and five counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
The offences took place over a period of approximately 17 months, during which Pennycott targeted a vulnerable 14-year-old girl, exploiting her trust and innocence.
The investigation, led by Detective Sergeant Amy Hewitt, revealed that Pennycott employed manipulative tactics to groom his young victim.
He reportedly bought her gifts, including clothes and DVDs, as a means of building a rapport and gaining her confidence.
However, this trust was ultimately betrayed in the most heinous manner, with Pennycott committing acts of sexual violence against the girl.
During the court proceedings at Bristol Crown Court, Pennycott’s admission of guilt was accepted, leading to his sentencing.
