STEPHEN MORGAN DONCASTER SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN SHEFFIELD
Stephen Morgan, of North Cliff Road, Doncaster, was apprehended during a police operation when he believed he was communicating with a 12-year-old and expressed interest in meeting up.In February 2024, the 38-year-old engaged in online conversations with a profile pretending to be a child.
During these exchanges, Morgan requested photographs and made explicit remarks about sexual acts.
He attempted to arrange a meeting, even offering to pick the supposed child up from school and suggesting swimming in a pond together.
Morgan was arrested when police stopped his vehicle at his home on 29 February 2024.
A registered sex offender, Morgan was convicted at Sheffield Crown Court on 25 March 2024 of one count of engaging in sexual communication with a child and one count of attempting to facilitate sexual activity with a child.
On 5 April, he received an 11-month prison sentence and was issued a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Authorities remind the public that victims of sexual offences are granted lifelong anonymity.
It is a criminal offence to attempt to identify them, and police will take necessary action to protect their privacy.
