MEN GUILTY OF GROOMING GIRLS FOR SEXUAL ABUSE
Prosecutor Claire Holmes explained to the jury that the offenders intentionally gave the girls alcohol and drugs to enable the crimes, which impaired the girls’ senses and lowered their defenses.Six of the victims had alcohol and drugs administered to them before being raped by Hawre.
Holmes described the girls as being "trapped" inside Hawre’s flat, with "no means to leave" and emphasized that "no one was coming to help them if they screamed." Hawre was convicted on several charges, including the rape of girls under 13 and those aged 13-15, arranging or facilitating travel for exploitation, and false imprisonment.
Muhamadi was found guilty of two counts related to arranging or facilitating travel for the purpose of exploitation.
However, he was acquitted of other charges, such as raping a girl under 13.
