A twisted sex offender who preyed on young girls for nearly 20 years has been locked away after a chilling investigation exposed the full scale of his crimes.Stephen Jeffries, 35, has been jailed for 22 years after abusing three victims — including children as young as just 11 — in offences spanning almost two decades.
The court heard how his latest attack came during a terrifying break-in at a Birmingham home in December 2024, where a young girl was sexually assaulted.
Detectives quickly traced forensic evidence back to Jeffries, arresting him within days at his home in Northfield, Bromsgrove.
What officers uncovered next was even more disturbing.
Further enquiries revealed Jeffries had also sexually assaulted two other girls in offences dating back as far as 2005 — painting a picture of a long-term predator operating in the shadows.
At Birmingham Crown Court, Judge His Honour Dean Kershaw branded Jeffries a "very high risk" to the public, imposing a 22-year prison sentence along with an additional eight years on extended licence.
He has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

The alleged offences occurred on December 8 at a specific location within Birmingham.
In a statement, law enforcement officials confirmed that Jeffries is scheduled to appear at Birmingham Crown Court in March for his next hearing.
