STEPHEN ALLEN SENTENCED TO 24 YEARS IN MIDDLESBROUGH FOR PLEASURING HIMSELF WITH CHILDREN AND SEXUAL ASSAULTS
A notorious sexual predator from Middlesbrough has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after a series of disturbing crimes involving young victims.Stephen Allen, aged 51, was found guilty of a range of serious offences, including raping a young girl and repeatedly assaulting her over a period of time.
The court heard that Allen used alcohol and drugs to manipulate and facilitate these heinous acts, severely abusing the trust placed in him by his victims.
The incidents involving the young girl were described as particularly disturbing, with Allen using her as a "sexual plaything" during the assaults.
These offenses left deep emotional scars, and one victim emotionally testified during the sentencing hearing, revealing, "I cannot think of an aspect of my life that it has not affected." She also shared that she has suffered from ongoing mental health issues as a result of the abuse she endured.
Further complicating his crimes, Allen later targeted a teenage boy, encouraging him to engage in sexual activity before ultimately raping him.
The court proceedings detailed that Allen’s predatory behavior extended across multiple incidents, with a total of 14 counts including two counts of rape, sexual assault, and sexual activity with a minor.
The trial culminated in a guilty verdict delivered by a jury in May of this year, despite Allen’s insistence on his innocence.
During the sentencing, Judge Deborah Sherwin addressed the court, describing Allen as a "dangerous offender." As the judge pronounced the sentence, Allen reacted with fury, shouting obscenities and loudly expressing his displeasure.
The courtroom environment turned chaotic, with a woman in the public gallery loudly exclaiming "f***ing joke" as the court doors were slammed and additional noise was heard from outside.
Prosecutor Aisha Wadoodi emphasized the dangerous nature of Allen’s crimes, stating, "The defendant managed to facilitate the offences using alcohol and drugs," and asserting that "the Crown certainly think that this is a dangerous offender." Allen’s defense lawyer, Paul Abrahams, maintained his client’s innocence, asserting that Allen still denies the allegations and did not admit guilt.
In addition to a substantial prison sentence, Judge Sherwin imposed an extended total of 32 years, which includes an eight-year extension, and also ordered Allen to comply with a sexual harm prevention order.
Allen, a resident of Bamburgh Court in Middlesbrough, was sentenced for multiple charges, including rape, sexual assault, and sexual activity with a minor, all of which he now faces serving behind bars for the foreseeable future.
