DONCASTER RAPIST SIMON WILLIAMS JAILED FOR VIOLENT ASSAULT AND RAPE
A violent offender from Doncaster who carried out brutal assaults, rape, and threats against his victim has been sentenced to prison for his horrific crimes.Simon Williams, aged 44, admitted to attacking and raping a woman, whose identity remains protected by law, in Doncaster during the previous year.
The court was informed that Williams assaulted his victim multiple times and inflicted serious injuries.
Sheffield Crown Court heard that Williams’s attack involved severe violence, resulting in facial injuries, bruising across her body, and knife wounds on her back.
The police in South Yorkshire commended the victim’s bravery for coming forward and helping to secure a conviction.
Investigator Alexandra Storey, who works with Doncaster’s Protecting Vulnerable People team, stated: “The victim endured vicious and violent assault, including rape and threats of further violence if she did not obey Williams.
This was a harrowing experience, and I commend her courage in reporting these crimes to the police.
Williams has accepted responsibility for his actions in court, and I am glad he received a sentence reflecting the gravity of his offences.” Williams, previously residing in Armthorpe, Doncaster, appeared before Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, June 5.
He was sentenced to a 20-year extended prison term, with an actual jail period of 15 years.
He pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to multiple counts of rape, assault by penetration, and assault causing actual bodily harm.
Additionally, he was subjected to an indefinite ban on contacting the victim through a restraining order and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
