SIMON PEACH NORTHAMPTON PAEDOPHILE JAILED FOR SEVEN YEARS OVER INTERNET SEX CRIMES
In a significant case brought before Northampton Crown Court, Simon Peach, a 36-year-old resident of Clarke Road, Northampton, was sentenced to seven years in prison on Tuesday, June 29, after being found guilty of engaging in heinous online sexual activities involving minors. The court heard that Peach had paid young girls to perform sexual acts over the internet, a disturbing pattern of behavior that spanned over a period of time and involved multiple violations of previous court orders.
Authorities revealed that Peach possessed more than 1,000 indecent images of children on his mobile phone and laptop devices.
These images ranged from the most serious category A to category C, with a total of 49 images in the highest category, 160 videos, 40 images in category B, 42 videos, and a staggering 648 images in category C, along with 218 videos.
All these materials depicted girls under the age of 16, highlighting the severity of his offenses.
The court was informed that Peach had previously been subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) issued in 2015, which he subsequently breached.
Police investigations uncovered that Peach had also recorded another individual for sexual gratification, further compounding his criminal conduct.
His Honour Judge David Herbert expressed concern over the escalation of Peach’s offending behavior, noting that he posed a 'significant risk of serious harm to young girls.' As a result, the judge extended Peach’s period on licence by an additional three years to better protect the public.
During the proceedings, the judge emphasized that Peach had been given an opportunity in 2015 to address his inappropriate interests but had failed to do so.
Instead, he continued to offend, with his sexual interests becoming increasingly entrenched and his conduct escalating from merely viewing images of young girls to actively contacting and encouraging them to perform sexual acts.
Evidence presented in court detailed that police seized Peach’s laptop in February 2020, which contained 128 recordings of live-streamed performances by girls under 16, recorded between August 2019 and just three days before his arrest.
These recordings showed the girls performing sexual acts for payment, with viewers, including Peach, making explicit comments and sending virtual gifts to encourage more extreme acts, which could be exchanged for real money.
Further investigations revealed that Peach’s devices contained internet search histories and applications used to browse anonymously and access the dark web, indicating deliberate efforts to conceal his activities.
The mobile phone seized from him held a total of 1,157 indecent images and videos of children, with police categorizing them from the most serious (category A) to the least (category C).
The images and videos depicted girls under 16 in various stages of sexual exploitation, underscoring the gravity of his crimes.
Judge Herbert addressed the court, stating, 'There are children out there who suffer harm so people like you can satisfy yourself by watching these images.' The impact of Peach’s actions was also reflected in the victim’s statement, read aloud during the trial.
The victim described feeling 'shocked and mortified' upon discovering the extent of Peach’s involvement.
They expressed feelings of anger, insecurity, and a need for time to process the trauma, emphasizing the profound emotional toll inflicted by Peach’s criminal behavior.
