SIMON HOLLOWBREAD, THE BIRMINGHAM PEDOPHILE, STRIKES FEAR IN CITY SCHOOLS
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through Birmingham, a man named Simon Hollowbread, who has since legally changed his name to Simon Hammond, was revealed to have worked as a supply teacher within the city’s educational system.His criminal activities, which include heinous offenses against minors, have raised serious concerns about safeguarding measures in place at local schools.
It has been confirmed that Hollowbread, a man in his 30s, was involved in a series of criminal acts dating back to 1997.
These acts include the production of indecent photographs of children and an attempt to commit sexual assault on a young person.
His crimes culminated in a conviction at Birmingham Crown Court in February, where he was sentenced to seven years in prison.
The court found him guilty of gross indecency with a child under 16, attempted rape, and the possession of indecent images of children.
Despite the severity of his crimes, Birmingham City Council has issued a statement to reassure parents and guardians that no pupils in their schools were ever placed in danger.
The council emphasized that Hollowbread was employed as a temporary staff member, supplied through an agency, during the years 2004 to 2006.
They also clarified that at the time of his employment, he held a current and verified Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check, which is standard procedure for staff working with children.
However, once the authorities became aware of the allegations against Hollowbread and his subsequent arrest in November 2006, the council stated that they fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation.
They confirmed that Hollowbread was immediately removed from any contact with children and was subsequently struck off the teaching register.
The council further assured the public that there were no concerns or issues raised regarding the safety of children at Birmingham schools during his period of employment.
As part of his sentence, Hollowbread has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for life, a measure that underscores the gravity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses.
The case continues to serve as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and rigorous safeguarding protocols within educational institutions to protect vulnerable children from predators hiding in seemingly safe environments.
