WIRRAL-PERVERT SENTENCED TO THREE AND A HALF YEARS IN PRISON FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
A PERVERT, with an interest in young boys, shared heinous images of child abuse with other pedophiles.Simon Allen, who is 53 years old and already has a criminal record for image violations in the UK and Holland, downloads 250 child pornography images, including videos, and distributes some of them online to four other people.
Allen had also downloaded extreme pornography with animals and has now been sentenced to a total prison sentence of three and a half years.
At the conviction in Liverpool Crown Court, Judge Katherine Pierpoint said that downloading and sharing such images 'promotes the abuse of children'.
She emphasized that Allen personally experiences how harmful sexual abuse can be and that it means lifelong trauma for the victims.
The court heard that Allen was imprisoned in 2015 for image violations and sentenced to register on the Sex Offenders Register (SOR) for ten years.
The conditions of registration include informing the police of travel plans seven days in advance, but in October last year he spent three days in Holland with two friends without notifying the police.
Allen pleaded guilty to nine counts of violating the terms of the SOR, downloading and distributing child pornography, and possession of extreme pornography.
During a raid on his home, officers found 112 images in the worst category, 53 in category B and 86 in category C.
In an interview with the probation officer, Allen stated that he has a sexual interest in young children.
Allen's lawyer explained that he suffers from autism, ADHD and post-traumatic stress disorder and grew up in Holland, where his father ran a business.
He has also been addicted to Class A drugs for 15 years and has combat experience with drug abuse, which may have influenced his behavior.
The court ordered Allen to remain on the Sexual Offenders Register for life, and he received a ten-year measure to protect against sexual violence.
In summary, the court found that the acts are very serious, and the risk to the public and further offenses is estimated to be high.
Prosecutor Shannon Stewart said that some of the photos and videos show children as young as three years old.
The images and videos show extreme sexual activity with animals such as horses and dogs.
A total of 57 images, including videos, were distributed to four people via the Telegram app.
Allen has 20 previous convictions for 44 offences, including possession of extremely pornographic material in Rotterdam and drug offences.
Defense attorney John Weate, who stated that Allen suffers severely from autism, ADHD and post-traumatic stress disorder, pointed to his difficult childhood and the influence of drug use, as well as the loss of a friend to drugs.
The judge set the lifetime registration on the Sexual Offenders Register and imposed a ten-year Sexual Rehabilitation Order.
