NURSERY WORKER, 29, WHO GRABBED 16-MONTH-OLD TODDLER 'LIKE A BAG OF RUBBISH' FOUND GUILTY OF ASSAULT
Nursery worker Elizabeth Adeagbo, 29, was found guilty of assault by beating after CCTV footage from the nursery showed her lifting a young boy 'like a bag of rubbish' as she carried him across the room.
The incident happened at around 9.30am on April 16 last year when the child, described as 'happy-go-lucky', grabbed her trouser leg seeking attention.
Adeagbo, employed via the Teaching Personnel agency, admitted it was wrong to pick the child up in such a way, and her solicitor explained she didn't intend harm.
She will be sentenced at Liverpool Magistrates' Court in May.
The boy's mother expressed her loss of trust, recounting how she found her son in tears hours after the incident, despite no physical harm being caused.
Prosecutors described her handling of the child as knowing it was inappropriate, lifting him by his upper arm.
The incident occurred in a nursery on the Wirral, which cannot be named, and was caught on CCTV footage shown in court.
Adeagbo had a 17-month-old son at the time and had previously worked at two nurseries without complaints.
Her solicitor highlighted her experience and remorse, asserting it was never her intention to harm the child.
