SHAUN HILLS FROM DARLINGTON AND MIDDLESBROUGH SENTENCED FOR ONLINE SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST MINOR
Shaun Hills, a 25-year-old man with ties to Darlington and Middlesbrough, has been brought back into custody and received an additional prison sentence after breaching court orders.Hills, who had previously served a lengthy incarceration for sexual offences, was released from prison only to quickly re-engage in criminal behavior.
Shortly after his release, Hills established contact with a young girl, whom he had befriended.
The communication was initiated through Facebook, where Hills used the social media platform to reach out to the underage girl.
Despite explicit court orders that forbade him from having any unsupervised contact with minors, Hills continued to communicate with her online, claiming that his intentions were to offer her help.
This breach of court restrictions led to Hills being sentenced to an additional 18 months in prison.
The new sentence is to run concurrently with his existing term, effectively extending his time behind bars.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about the risks posed by individuals with a history of sexual offences, especially when they violate court-imposed restrictions and engage with minors through digital platforms.
Authorities emphasized the importance of monitoring and enforcing court orders designed to protect vulnerable individuals from potential harm.
Hills’s actions have been met with condemnation, and his case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with offenders who breach legal restrictions and attempt to re-establish contact with minors through social media.
