SHAUN ANDREWS CAUGHT IN BRISTOL AND CHIPPEHAM: SHOCKING VOYEURISM AND CHILD INDECENCY CASES
In a disturbing series of criminal acts, Shaun Andrews, a resident of Chippenham, has been linked to multiple offenses involving voyeurism and the exploitation of minors. The incidents came to light through a police investigation that uncovered a pattern of invasive behavior targeting unsuspecting individuals in Bristol and the surrounding areas.
In July 2020, Andrews appeared before Bristol Magistrates’ Court to face serious charges.
He pleaded guilty to seven counts of voyeurism, admitting to using a hidden camera to secretly record people in a bathroom setting.
The recordings, which totaled approximately 150 videos, captured four individuals—two women, one man, and a fourth person whose gender was not specified—while they were using the toilet.
The recordings took place in a Bristol bathroom during 2017 and 2018, revealing Andrews’ disturbing obsession with voyeuristic acts.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Andrews was accompanied by his mother, citing his anxiety as the reason for her presence.
Dressed in a blue suit and tie, Andrews also admitted to three counts of creating indecent images of children, with the images depicting minors aged between five and twelve.
The police investigation was initiated after a victim noticed a green light above a bathroom doorway, which was later identified as a hidden camera.
Upon examining the memory card from the device, the victim recognized Andrews’ face in the footage, leading to his identification and subsequent arrest.
Authorities seized multiple devices from Andrews’ residence, including his laptop, which contained not only the voyeuristic videos but also a collection of indecent images of children.
The discovery of these images added a deeply troubling dimension to the case, highlighting the extent of Andrews’ criminal behavior.
Prosecutor May Li detailed the investigation, emphasizing that the victim’s alertness was crucial in uncovering the hidden camera and bringing Andrews to justice.
The footage and images found on his devices confirmed his involvement in these serious offenses.
Given the gravity of the crimes, the magistrates’ chairwoman, Gemma Hargreaves, stated that the case was too serious to be sentenced at the magistrates’ level.
She ordered that Andrews be transferred to Bristol Crown Court for sentencing, scheduled for August 12.
As part of his sentence, Andrews was ordered to pay £3,000 in compensation and was mandated to attend a sex offender rehabilitation program.
Additionally, he was required to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years and was issued a seven-year restraining order to protect the victim involved in the case.
