A man identified as Sediq Ali, aged 34 and hailing from Birmingham, has been handed a six-year prison sentence after being convicted of attempting to rape a woman in Salford.

The incident, which took place on October 30, 2020, led to a swift response from law enforcement authorities following reports of a serious assault.

According to court records, officers were dispatched to an address in Salford after receiving a distress call regarding an incident that had occurred earlier that day.

It was reported that Ali had threatened the woman involved before attempting to carry out a sexual assault.
