Sean Williams

Bolton Sexual Abuser

June 2022 Bolton sex offender ‘changed’ surname and didn’t tell mums about his past A convicted sex offender breached orders preventing him from being around children after forming friendships with their mothers without telling them about his past. Sean Williams, 31, was locked up and given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for sex offences against two 13-year-old girls in 2017. After his release from prison, he formed friendships with several women who were unaware of his past and as a result, he was allowed to be around their children in breach of his order, Bolton Crown Court heard this week. Bob Sastry, prosecuting, said: “All of these mothers discovered the defendant had changed his name and that he was in fact on the sex offenders register.” He added: “These women are clearly upset that he had lied to them for such a long time.” Williams’ order prevented him from having contact with children under the age of 16. Mr Sastry told the court how the sex offender had breached this several times and was eventually interviewed by police in January this year – he pleaded guilty before magistrates on May 3. Honorary Recorder for Bolton Judge Martin Walsh accepted no children had been harmed but said that the order was in place to protect the public. He sentenced Williams, of Lindean Close in Bolton, to 12 months in prison – suspended for two years – and ordered him to complete 35 days of rehabilitation requirements. Judge Walsh also applied another Sexual Harm Prevention Order which will be in force for another 10 years. July 2018: Due to be released this month June 2017 Pervert abused two 13-year-old girls – Jailed A sex offender who abused two 13-year-old girls has been jailed for 27 months. Sean Williams pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault and two further offences of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent on the day his trial was due to start at Bolton Crown Court. At his sentencing hearing, Judge Graeme Smith heard how 26-year-old Williams subsequently denied he had committed the offences and accused his victims of lying before he finally admitted his guilt. Robert Wyn-Jones, prosecuting, told the court how Williams sent one of the teenage girls a sexually explicit message via WhatsApp. Then, in May, 2015, he touched her private parts and made her commit a sex act with him. “She was too scared to shout out or do anything,” said Mr Wyn-Jones. The girl later told her mother what had happened and the revelation led to another girl revealing that Williams had also repeatedly sexually abused her over a two-year period. When arrested Williams, of Turton Street, Bolton, denied anything had happened and could not recall sending any inappropriate messages. Sentencing, Judge Smith told Williams: “Both of the girls spoke of the considerable distress they have suffered as a result of this offending. “At no stage have you expressed any remorse at all.” In addition the the 27-month jail sentence Williams was placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for the same period.
