LABOUR COUNCILLOR SEAN MORTON FROM LHANBRYDE ADMITS TO CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND BESTIALITY CHARGES IN MORAY
In a significant development within the local community of Moray, Sean Morton, a former Labour councillor representing the area of Lhanbryde, has pleaded guilty to serious charges related to the possession of explicit and illegal images. The charges include the possession of photographs depicting children in the nude, with some images believed to feature girls as young as ten years old. These images were found stored on his personal laptop, raising grave concerns about the exploitation and abuse of minors. In addition to the child exploitation images, police investigations uncovered disturbing photographs of adult men and women engaged in sexual acts with dogs, classified as extreme pornographic material. These images depict bestiality, a criminal offense that involves sexual activities with animals, and are considered highly illegal and morally reprehensible.
Sean Morton, who was previously a councillor for Moray and resided in Lhanbryde, was removed from his position in the local council following the emergence of these allegations in December of the previous year. The allegations led to his defeat in the May local elections, marking a significant blow to his political career. Despite the setback, Morton publicly dismissed the accusations, describing them as a “smear on my reputation” through a social media post shortly after his electoral loss.
However, in court proceedings, Morton, now 36 years old, admitted to the charges. The court heard that between November 8 and 29, 2013, he possessed extreme pornographic images involving adults engaging in sexual acts with animals. Furthermore, on November 11, 2013, he was charged with “taking or permitting to be taking” indecent photographs of children, a serious offense that highlights the gravity of the case.
The case has sent shockwaves through the community of Moray, raising questions about the safety and protection of vulnerable individuals. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of vigilance and the need for strict enforcement of laws against such heinous crimes. The court proceedings are ongoing, and Morton’s guilty plea marks a significant step in the pursuit of justice for the victims involved.
