DOORMAN JAILED FOR RAPE AND FALSE IMPRISONMENT

A doorman who committed sexual offences against two women in Brighton has been jailed.

Sarjo Jatta, 45, was convicted in September for the rape, sexual assault, and false imprisonment of a woman aged 22 in February 2020.

He was also found guilty of raping an 18-year-old woman whom he had met at a Brighton nightclub in September 2015.

Jatta received a 20-year prison term from Lewes Crown Court and was also given a four-year extended licence period.

His arrest followed allegations from the 22-year-old victim in March 2020, who stated that he had offered her a lift home after she was seen walking near the city centre casino where he worked as a doorman.
