PRIOR POLICE OFFICER ROY CHARLES GALLICHAN EMBARRASSES CITY WITH SEXUAL OFFENSES

In April 2011, Roy Charles Gallichan, a 52-year-old former police officer, was sentenced to jail for serious misconduct. He secretly recorded a teenage girl while she was undressing, which led to his imprisonment. Additionally, Gallichan was convicted of uploading explicit photographs of a woman onto a porn website. He further circulated the web link to her colleagues, members of her church, and a Member of the States, sharing intimate images without consent.

The court also heard that he harassed the woman with a series of 'disturbing and deeply offensive' text messages, causing significant distress. His actions have caused shame for the community and highlight the importance of safeguarding personal privacy.
