WOMAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT WITH GLASS AND KNIFE ATTACK IN DARLINGTON
Rosa Boanson, a 45-year-old woman, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges including affray, inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, assault by beating, and possession of a bladed article.
The incident took place in November of the previous year, where she attacked a woman and two men, one of whom was her partner.
According to court reports, Boanson had been socialising before she and her partner were invited to a flat in Darlington.
She took offense at the presence of another woman, forcibly barged into the flat, and attacked her by pulling out hair and dragging her outside.
She then broke a glass and used the sharp edge to jab at her partner’s face, resulting in a hand injury that required sutures at hospital.
Additionally, Boanson chased a bystander with a steak knife after he threw a can of Fosters at her to stop her.
Boanson, who has 21 convictions for 41 offences, showed no comment during police interviews.
Her lawyer highlighted her struggles with mental health issues and a volatile relationship.
Judge Joanne Kidd sentenced her to 16 months in prison, emphasizing her intoxicated state during the attack and her limited memory of the events.
