RORY KERR'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN PETERHEAD AND BUCHAN REVEALED

In a disturbing series of incidents that have shocked the communities of Peterhead and the surrounding Buchan area, Rory Kerr, a 39-year-old man from Peterhead, has been convicted of multiple serious offences involving public indecency and online sexual misconduct.

His criminal activities first came to light in 2021 when it was reported that Kerr had spent several hours each day engaging in sexual acts in his back garden in Boddam, a village near Peterhead. Neighbours were appalled by his behaviour, which included public exposure and lewd conduct, prompting police investigations and his subsequent placement on the sex offenders register.

Despite being subject to strict restrictions on his use of internet-enabled devices, Kerr was found to have violated these conditions in September 2022. Officers on patrol in Faserburgh, a town close to Peterhead, spotted Kerr making his way towards the town centre shortly after midnight. The police officers, operating in plainclothes, observed that Kerr was sweating heavily and was dressed in three black jackets and gloves, which raised suspicion.

When questioned, Kerr claimed he was on his way to walk his mother home from a local pub. However, during the interaction, he admitted to possessing a mobile phone that he had not registered with the police, which was a breach of his court restrictions. Further investigation revealed that Kerr had been using this unregistered device to browse adult websites and engage in sexual communications on a swingers' website that required membership approval.

Kerr also disclosed that he had shared explicit images and videos of himself masturbating in public places and at his home address. A detailed search of his phone uncovered multiple images and videos, some of which depicted Kerr exposing his genitals and performing sexual acts in public locations. Among these was a video titled “Old Liney,” dated August 22 of the previous year, showing Kerr pleasuring himself with his face clearly visible. Another video, titled “Down Ugie,” dated July 30, 2022, depicted him exposing himself and performing sexual acts while looking towards Peterhead. Police later visited the location shown in the video, which was approximately 200 metres from a children’s playpark, confirming the public nature of his acts.

Additional footage captured Kerr engaging in similar behaviour in daylight and darkness at various public sites along the Formartine and Buchan Way and near the mouth of the River Ugie. These acts included public masturbation and exposure, with some videos taken in broad daylight, further demonstrating his blatant disregard for public decency.

During court proceedings, Kerr, who appeared in custody, also admitted to failing to disclose his online usernames to police. It was revealed that he communicated with others via Snapchat, Kik, and WhatsApp, using usernames such as ‘Chunk’ and ‘Jaydensmitz08’ to facilitate sexual conversations and share explicit content.

Sheriff Craig Findlater sentenced Kerr to 32 months in prison for his offences, reflecting the severity of his actions and the breach of court-imposed restrictions. The case highlights ongoing concerns about public safety and the importance of strict enforcement of restrictions placed on sex offenders.

In a related case from May 2021, Kerr was also convicted of exposing himself in Boddam, where he spent hours pleasuring himself in front of neighbours. His behaviour included messaging a woman to “check the bird house” in her garden to catch him in the act, and sending a Facebook message containing an aubergine emoji and a link to a swingers site. Kerr admitted charges of causing distress through public indecency and sending sexual messages to a woman, as well as exposing himself in 2018. He was subsequently placed on the sex offenders register and ordered to undergo background checks, with sentencing scheduled for July 12 at Peterhead Sheriff Court.
