ROGER LIGHT FROM ABERGAVENNY JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF SCHOOLGIRL IN MONMOUTHSHIRE
In a case that has shocked the local community, Roger Light, a 68-year-old resident of Wern Gifford, Pandy, near Abergavenny in Monmouthshire, has been sentenced to prison for his involvement in the sexual abuse of a young girl during the 1980s.The victim, now an adult woman, bravely delivered a heartfelt personal statement at Cardiff Crown Court, describing her attacker as a “monster” and recounting the profound impact of his actions on her life.
Light was charged with multiple counts related to indecent assault.
He admitted to two of these charges, but a jury found him guilty of an additional two counts of indecent assault, confirming his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
The offences took place over a period when the girl was between 13 and 15 years old, a vulnerable age during which such abuse can have lifelong consequences.
