DOMESTIC ABUSER JAILED FOR 'TERRIFYING' CAMPAIGN OF HARASSMENT

A 'VICIOUS and vindictive' domestic abuser who conducted a 'terrifying' near three-year campaign of harassment against a woman he was having an affair with has been jailed.

Wilson, 47, had also persistently called and messaged the woman, threatened her with violence and pursued her in his car.

He smashed his victim's car with a hammer, caused her to suffer multiple panic attacks, and forced entry to her home between July 2019 and March 2022 - then referred to her in a pre-sentencing report as a 'psycho'.

He admitted to around a dozen incidents making up the domestic abuse charge on the final day of his trial at Greenock Sheriff Court, more than 18 months after the case called.

Wilson was jailed for a year-and-a-half for his crimes, with a four-year non-harassment order banning him from contacting the victim or entering her street.

A social work report demonstrated his 'lack of responsibility', and the judge emphasized that society will not tolerate domestic abuse.

He previously claimed the woman had set him up with false allegations after their relationship ended.

His disturbing actions included attacking her vehicle, chasing her, causing panic attacks, and repeatedly harassing her via calls and messages.

He also forcibly entered her home and made threats, continuing these behaviors over nearly three years.
