A man from Sheerness, who sexually abused a young girl, has been sentenced to prison after admitting to deliberate and targeted criminal acts against a vulnerable minor who trusted him.
Robert Spindlow, aged 56 and residing on Marine Parade in Sheerness, engaged in repeated sexual assaults on a girl under 13 years old, a person he was previously known to, during the months of June and July in 2017.
The abuse came to light only after the girl courageously disclosed the incidents to another adult, prompting an investigation.
Spindlow pleaded guilty to three counts of rape, one charge of touching assault, and another of penetration assault.
He was subsequently sentenced to a 15-year prison term, with an additional five years on licence thereafter.
